The Robinson Curriculum uses the Saxon Math series of math books and a unique self-study method that markedly enhances their effectiveness and the student’s rate of progress. We recommend students start the series with Saxon Math 5/4 once they have learned to read and have all of their basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts by instant rote memory.
The student who finishes this series through Calculus, should have math skills sufficient to use Advance Placement to test out of a year of College Calculus. They will also be prepared for the rigorous Physics and Chemistry course that is included in the Robinson Curriculum.
The Saxon Math series is the only required set of books that is not included on the Robinson Curriculum CD set. There are many good math programs available to home school families that could be used with our teaching method. However, Saxon Math has a proven track record for giving excellent scholastic results. Therefore we strongly recommend its use with the Robinson Curriculum.
